Chicken Keeping Course Experience

I have kept and bred poultry in my garden for around 7 years, including various bantam breeds and ducks. I have extensive knowledge and connections of the poultry world and have found keeping chickens a great joy.

There is nothing better than collecting eggs fresh from you own hens or sitting out on a summer afternoon watching a few birds pottering about the lawn.

I intend to impart my experience from trials, successes and inevitable mistakes.

Chicken Keeping Course Information

For beginners venturing in to backyard poultry keeping on a small, pleasurable scale.

£15.00 per person.

Refreshments will be provided for the course which can hold 6 to 8 participants, all ages welcome.

The course will include:

• Choosing the correct breed
• Correct housing and where to keep your birds
• Health and common ailments
• Handling
• Feeding

An information booklet will be handed out at the end of the course for a refreshment guide.

The course will run from approximately 2 hours with an interval for refreshments half way through.
