Experience with chickens:

I have been keeping poultry for 6 years now. Having started purely to have a few eggs for the kitchen our hobby has become a family passion. We have taken our hobby to the next level breeding poultry and exhibiting at some of the top shows nationwide.

2010 was an incredible year for us, we won 10 1sts at the Federation Championships, were chosen to feature on Channel 4's Animal Madhouse - introducing new keepers to keeping poultry as well as being featured in Practical Poultry magazine.

We started running Poultry keeping courses in the Summer of 2010.

Chicken Keeping Courses Information

We host poultry keeping courses on a monthly basis and each course is aimed at the people attending.

So if you are complete beginners I start at the basics - wanting more advanced? I spend longer on the health and welfare side of poultry keeping. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

I enjoy introducing people to the joys of keeping poultry as much as keeping poultry myself.
I allow a maximum of 8 people on each course but generally keep numbers around the 4-5 mark to offer a more personalised course.

Refreshments are provided - Tea / Coffee and biscuits.

I provide comprehensive course notes to take away on the day. Further notes on health care are emailed to you. Once you have attended a course I offer continued help or advice that may be needed via email.

The course lasts 2 hours but with questions and answers section if often runs for longer.
