Experience with chickens:

I have been keeping and breeding chickens since 1997. Since then I have kept many different breeds of traditional chickens and I currently breed Appleyard ducks and Steinbacher geese as well. I am an active member of Dyfed Poultry Association who enjoy keeping traditional breeds alive.

When I am not tending to my poultry I am running a B&B near the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and helping my husband run a small livestock farm with pedigree sheep and cattle.

My guests take much interest in the poultry, which they can see, and ask many questions about them and how to look after the poultry. I have a science degree and I have had some experience in teaching people with learning disabilities about poultry.

Chicken Keeping Courses Information

I run the 1 day residential course from 10am to 16.30, with 1 hour for lunch, (cost included). As I am not far from the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and departure point for Skomer Island where puffins breed, you may wish to book for a longer stay or visit other breeders of poultry and waterfowl in Pembrokeshire.

Please advise me, on booking, about any particular dietary requirements or matters I need to know about, for your health and safety. This course is run for adults and young adults, over the age of 11 years, who are accompanied by their parent/guardian.
